Raw material requirements for PVC foam board

PVC foam board, also known as Chevron board, has good heat insulation, heat preservation, sound insulation, light load-bearing properties, etc., due to other heat preservation materials, and is easy to operate, highly mechanized, time-saving, and labor-saving. What are the raw material requirements for PVC foam board? Let's take a look together.

Resin: PVC generally uses Type 8 resin, which has fast gelation speed during processing, relatively low processing temperature, stable product quality, and easy control of density. In recent years, many manufacturers have switched to Type 5 resin.

Stabilizer: The choice of stabilizer takes into account the environmental protection and good effect of rare earth stabilizers, but due to the relatively high price, they have not been promoted. In the future, as environmental protection requirements increase, the market for rare earth stabilizers will usher in a bright prospect . Calcium-zinc stabilizer has the problem of zinc burning and the stabilizing effect is slightly worse, and the dosage is small. At present, lead salt stabilizers are more commonly used. Due to the wide cross-section of the mold, the long flow channel and the high heat generation of yellow foaming, the stabilizer requires a high lead content and good stabilization effect, otherwise the products are prone to various types problem.

Foaming agent: the choice of foaming agent. The foaming agent AC releases a lot of heat during the decomposition process, which is likely to cause yellowing in the middle of the section. This requires a certain amount of white foaming agent to decompose to absorb excess heat. , The foaming agent is required to have a large mesh in order to achieve uniform foaming without large cells.

Conditioner: Foaming regulator. Through years of research and development and improvement, the process technology of foaming regulator ACR is becoming more and more sophisticated, and its performance and quality are becoming more and more stable. The board should use a foaming regulator with a strong plasticized slow melt.

Lubricants: The selection of lubricants follows the principle of giving consideration to lubrication in the early, mid- and late-stages, so that the materials are protected by lubricants at all stages, and adhere to long-term stable production without precipitation and scaling.

Foaming aid: In order to improve the foaming quality and foam structure, a small amount of zinc oxide can be added as a foaming assistant, and a small amount of aluminum silicate can be added to reduce precipitation.

Pigment: In order to achieve a more beautiful effect, titanium dioxide and fluorescent whitening agent can be added, and antioxidants and ultraviolet absorbers can be added to improve weather resistance.

Filler: select light calcium carbonate instead of active calcium, and use high mesh number as the main choice.

The difference between PVC board and PP board

Many people mistake PP board and PVC board, but these two boards are made of different materials, and the effect is also different. In the plastic board industry, PVC board and PP board have always been better developed. Many customers don't know the difference between the two types of plates, so they don't know how to choose them when they use them. Let's find out what is the difference between the two types of plates.

PVC board is a kind of vacuum blister film, which is made of PVC as raw material and has a honeycomb mesh structure in cross section. It is used for the surface packaging of various panels, so it is also called decorative film and adhesive film, which is used in many industries such as building materials, packaging, and medicine.

The heat-resistant stability of PVC sheet is very poor. It starts to soften at 80 degrees and differentiates at 130 degrees, and releases HCL gas. PVC is not as electrically insulating as PP, and is usually suitable for medium and low voltage and low frequency insulation materials. PVC is resistant to most inorganic acids, alkalis, salts, and most organic solvents.

PP board, also known as polypropylene (PP) board (PP pure board, modified PP board, reinforced PP board, PP welding rod), is a semi-crystalline material. It is harder than PE and has a higher melting point. Since homopolymer PP is very brittle when the temperature is higher than 0°C, many commercial PP materials are random copolymers with 1 to 4% ethylene or clamp copolymers with higher ethylene content.

PP board is odorless, non-toxic, tasteless and conforms to the national health standards. It has a low density and is a lighter kind of general plastics. It can be boiled in water and steam sterilized at 120 degrees. It can be used for a long time at a temperature of 100 degrees without deformation. Together with electrical insulation properties and chemical stability, it hardly absorbs water and has no effect when touched with most chemicals. PP is resistant to corrosion, acid and alkali, etc. The disadvantage is that it has poor low-temperature impact resistance and is easier to age, but it can be overcome by modification and the addition of antioxidants.
